Privacy Policy

Your trips are yours. This Privacy Policy explains what information Canvel collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect the minimum needed to run the app and we never sell your personal data.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you sign in (e.g. with Google or Apple), we receive your name, email address, and profile photo to create and identify your account.

Content you create

Trips, itineraries, destinations, notes, expenses, and the invitations you send are stored so the app can function and sync across your devices and travel companions.

Location

With your permission, we use your device location to show your position on the trip map and suggest nearby activities. Location is used while you use the app; you can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.

Notifications

With your permission, we send push notifications for trip activity and reminders. You can disable these at any time in your device settings.

Diagnostics

We may collect limited, aggregated technical data (such as crash logs and basic usage) to keep the app stable and improve it.

2. How we use information

To provide and operate the Canvel app and its features.
To sync your trips and enable planning with people you invite.
To send notifications and reminders you have opted into.
To maintain security, prevent abuse, and respond to reports.
To improve the Service.

3. How information is shared

Content in a shared trip is visible to the people you invite to that trip. We use trusted infrastructure providers (such as Google Firebase for authentication, database, and notifications, and a maps provider) who process data on our behalf. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data retention & deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account — and the personal data associated with it — at any time from within the app or via our account deletion page. Some records may be retained where required by law.

5. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.

6. Children

Canvel is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us at privacy@canvel.app and we will help.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
